Rachel Things
1. I've been online for over 18 years now.
2. I secretly liked my husband when we were in the 7th grade. He claims he secretly liked me too.
3. My sister and I never fought as kids - if we ever did, I don't remember it. We argued, but never a knock-down-drag-out kinda fight.
4. I consider my sister to be a very good friend and we talk at least once a week on the phone.
5. I wear glasses/contacts. I prefer to wear my glasses more often. Anti-glare is wonderful when sitting in front of a computer all day.
6. I love the color green.
7. I collect frogs - not real ones. Though, they are cute too.
8. I am a middle child.
9. I was a SAHM for 13 years before returning to the workforce. The pay is much better :)
10. I work from home.
11. I have had 3 real jobs in my life. I have been on 3 interviews in my life - and got each job.
12. I am a cancer (July 21) and it fits! I'm a helper my nature and would mend strangers problems if I thought they would let me.
13. I knew I loved Richard the first night we met up again as adults. Where did we meet up again? At a bar.
14. I got pregnant 6 weeks after getting married. All our kids are 3.5 years apart.
15. We never planned any of our children. Well, we talked about having another and I was already pregnant for Daniel and didn't know it. Rich said we should have another and I was already pregnant for Sarah and didn't know it. I made him promise to never suggest another baby - his power of suggestion is much too real LOL
16. Sarah, youngest, was conceived on our Anniversary, May 21, and born on her due date of February 14. She was also the only girl born that day at that hospital.
17. I am not a patient person. I have a short fuse.
18. I'm a perfectionist - which means I will not attempt anything unless I KNOW I can do it well.
19. I am very sentimental. I still have my highschool ID cards, all my yearbooks, just about every Bday card I was given, etc. Yes, I am a packrat.
20. I am more like my mother every day. I use to say I'd never want to be like my mother. But she has some really good qualities.
21. I'm still a tomboy. I hate dressing up and/or wearing makeup. The last dress I wore was 9 years ago at my sisters wedding. Before that? Probably my own wedding dress.
22. Some of my fingernails grow downward. My best friends' grow upward. Freaky.
23. I tan easily. Good Indian blood :)
24. I dated a married/separated man for 9 months. I was 18 and he was 29.
25. I am Cajun and can't really speak much French. grrrr
26. I live about 3 miles from where I was raised.
27. I don't consider myself to be very domestic.
28. I enjoy canning and freezing things from our garden.
29. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
30. Dr. Pepper is my favorite soft drink.
31. I like most veggies.
32. I was in SPARK - gifted program for about 4 yrs. They didn't have one when I got to high school. I was tired of feeling like I needed to be perfect all the time, so I was glad.
33. I made my first C in 6th grade and was petrified to go home.
34. I worry too much.
35. I meet 5 other women every few years for a girls weekend. We met online many years ago.
36. At one point, I was addicted to chatting online. I have seen this same thing happen to many friends.
37. I am terrified of wind during a storm. I am terrified of tornadoes.
38. I don't watch much tv. I'd rather get my news from online.
39. I love games - backgammon online is very addicting.
40. I love garage sales, but hate to shop.
41. I can't stand Super Walmart.
42. I have high blood pressure and GERD.
43. I love learning new things.
44. My husband is my best friend - this takes time - but so worth it.
45. I rarely meet a stranger - I can/will talk to just about anybody.
46. I'm a hermit.
47. I am Catholic.
48. I went to Tech School for Commercial Art.
49. I love the smell of an infant's head. Not all that lotion and powder - the real deal.
50. I go weeks without shaving :)
51. I hoard money. Not like I have a major savings account.. but I rarely spend money unless it's absolutely justified. And rarely on myself. This comes from having one income while my husband was working construction. You never knew when the job was gonna end and when it rains there is no work, thus, no pay!
52. Due to the above, we applied for food stamps once in our lives. It was so degrading. I was not asking for a handout - we needed help - and had paid plenty into taxes. Thankfully, Rich got a job before we had to REapply - because the young girl (caseworker) had failed to tell me to get copies of things, and I had to reapply. Another 30 days waiting - we could have starved after 60 days, people!
53. I color my hair when the gray gets too bad.
54. My had an emergency cesarean section for my son - cord entanglement - I understand post partum depression.
55. If I have a dream that sticks with me the next day and I really can't take my mind off of it, it comes true.
56. I luv gadgets!
57. I have a birthmark on the side of my face. It's a bit darker than my skin. It use to be under my eye and on my cheek but has moved into my hair line as I got older.
58. I like to bake.
59. Fall/Winter is my fav time of the year!
